Welcome
Photo by Bill Patten Art Emporium is located on the corner of Quarrier and Hale Streets in the heart of downtown Charleston. We have the area's largest custom frame selection with several thousand of mouldings and hundreds of mat choices in a wide variety of colors and styles. Our frame shop has become known for our ability to tackle the most challenging projects from shadow boxes to preservation of museum artifacts, and your child's most precious work of art. Our framing staff has over 20 years combined experience, and that's important when bringing your cherished pieces for framing. Art Emporium is much more than Charleston's premier frame shop. In addition to custom framing services we carry pottery, jewelry, photography and original works of art from West Virginia's finest artisans. We also offer a unique selection of glassware, stained glass, metal art and sculpture. We offer creative gifts for people in all price ranges. In the mezzanine area of the Art Emporium you'll find a wide array of art supplies for all types of artists, from the beginner to the experienced. We stock art kits with all types of paints to pencils included. We also have drawing pads, canvas panels, and stretched canvases to help complete your art projects. In addition to artist supplies we carry an amazing amount of young kids creative products from companies such as Melissa and Doug and Creativity for Kids. The selection includes wooden puzzles, toys, science kits, plush and much much more. Adjacent to the retail space is a 2000 square foot gallery where we host monthly art exhibits. The Art Emporium Gallery focuses on emerging artists from all over the state and beyond. In the Gallery our customers will find art that is always new, exciting and refreshing. The Art Emporium is one of the mainstays of Charleston's downtown ArtWalk. Galleries in town stay open on the third Thursday of each month. Local artists are invited to set up their easels around the gallery, so that our customers can experience even more of what Charleston has to offer in the local art scene. |
